The Nubian Jak Educational Academy is an acknowledge authority
for providing educational workshops and resources to students,
personal advisors, teachers, carers, youth workers,
and social workers working with young people from a BME background
in the
UK. The company’s focus is to both compliment the national
curriculum while
offering high quality training and consultancies in the field
of personal development.
Various components are examined including education, culture,
society, citizenship,
expectations, and history. The overall objectives of the workshops
are to improve service
delivery for the person or organisation working with the target
group, to have an increased
awareness of cultural diversity better understanding of the
issues relating and/or for the
young person attending the workshops to have a greater appreciation
of their role and
future in Britain.

Our Academy provides practical workable solutions which deal
directly with the real issues surrounding young people and their
trainers at all levels.
There are 14 workshops for young people and teachers.
Our workshops are presented by a team of experienced professional
arts and educational facilitators, and each member of our team
has been CRB checked and cleared.
The Nubian Jak Edutainment Academy is a unique venture
which uses education and entertainment to develop and
raise awareness of Black Minority Ethnic (BME) history
and achievement among students, teachers, carers, social
workers and youth workers. The academy was inspired
and founded by former social worker turned media personality,
Jak Bubeula-Dodd. The Nubian Jak concept also includes
the award-winning board-game ‘Nubian Jak’
with replaceable card sets as well as a book series.
Described by the educational magnate Time-Life as “A
very innovative concept”, Nubian Jak has also
been referred to by Inspired Magazine as "a world
first" by The Voice newspaper group as "wonderfully
educational" and by The Independent as "an
educational, non political medium that can change people's
views". TV features include BBC News South East,
B.E.T. (USA) as well as on Radio i.e. GLR, Choice FM,
Radio Scotland, BBC Southern Counties, the World Service,
and WLIB (NY). We offer programmes of educational workshops
and training suitable for young people of all cultural
backgrounds, and personal advisors.
